Get Unstuck by Saying No

Comments (0)

Do you have a tough time saying "no" when people ask you to do things? Are you constantly over committing? When you do have difficulty saying "no" you end up with way to much on your plate, overwhelmed, stressed and anxious. It is not a good place to be in. The bad news is that you are there. The good news is that you got yourself there and you can get yourself out. It is not always and easy journey but you can do it. This article will tell you some of the ways you can learn how to say "no" and have it stick.

The first thing to do is to figure out why you have such a hard time saying "no" when you are asked to do things. You have probably thought about this before but thinking about it and doing something about it are two different things. You do not say "no" because you are afraid of something. The next time you run into this situation ask yourself the following questions.

What is it that you are afraid of? What do you think will happen if you say "no"? What is the worst case scenario? How likely is that to happen? What is more likely to happen? How can you deal with that? What do you believe about people who are afraid to say "no"? What do you believe about yourself when you are afraid to say 'No"? What would be a more empowering belief to have about yourself saying "no"? What can you do to adopt that belief for yourself? What is the first step you need to take to adopt that new belief
