Ever have one of those days that you just don't want to get out of bed, and you spend the rest of the day wishing you were back in bed? All of us do. The good thing is that there are quite a few methods to put some pep back in your step.
It is best to have a regular waking/sleeping schedule. Set your alarm for the same time each day and, no matter how much you may want to resist, make yourself stick to that schedule. Doing this will establish a regular cycle in your body and prevent you from making changes to it; this ensures your body gets adequate rest.
Instead of the traditional three meals, try eating six small meals daily. Eating a lot of small healthy portions throughout the day, rich in protein and carbs, will help you keep your energy up.
Eat your small meals at the same times, too; doing so will keep your energy levels balanced.
Exercise can boost your energy as well. Put down the TV remote and take a walk in the afternoon; it gets your heart rate up and makes you feel pumped.
Many people need some type of motivation to exercise. Get a workout buddy or try listening to some inspiring music. The theme to Rocky might be fun to use.
Sleep is critical when trying to stay energized. You are not going to be able to function well if you are running on fumes. You have to make sure you get an adequate amount of sleep each night. Take some time out to relax before you hit the sheets; this helps prevent tossing and turning. Having a good night's rest will recharge your batteries and rejuvenate you for the following day.
Remember these pointers and you should be able to kiss your old lethargic self goodbye. Say hello to the newer, more energetic you tomorrow!
